A Stupid Lovestory

Love is making Mama and Papa stupid together.
They would laugh at nothing,
And laugh again,
Then caught each other's eye,
And laugh some more.
She seems to think he’s the best man since the world began.
He seems to think he’s the best man to ever hold her hand.

You see ―
Marriage is making Mama and Papa stupid together.
One day they swear they love each other,
And end up throwing knives and plates in the kitchen a year later,
Declare their regrets of being together,
But still ended up drinking coffee the next day later.

You see ―
Commitment is making Mama and Papa stupid together.
One night, they plan to build a happy little family,
So they do what they want to do.
Nine months later, they struggle a bit,
On doing what they don’t want to do,
Changing nappy, feeding the baby.
Taking in how they are not ready to make a choice,
by giving up the other choices.

You see ―
Hate, sometimes, is making Mama and Papa stupid together.
She hates it when he came home drunk.
He hates her for so many things,
For the nagging, the overdue manicure bill and the burnt cooking.
She sleeps on their bed, he on the living room’s sofa,
She never says a word and he doesn’t either.
Late some night, he comes back in their bedroom.
This time he carefully knocks.
She is half asleep, she still lets him in.
“Sweetie, I’m sorry. I don’t want you to go bed mad. Okay?”
And they live stupidly together.
