BOOK REVIEW: We Should All Be Feminists
I PRAY THAT THIS BOOK WILL BE INCLUDED TO CANON OF
LITERATURE. XX
I know I am not very disposed politically nor socially ‘til
I was. I didn’t really put much seriousness on feminism in real life cause I
can never fully understand it. So I grow up thinking being a feminist is a bad
thing cause we (women) are raised to be submissive (and it’s a good thing, but
isn’t it also bad?). Tonight, I am learning. Took me 20 years.
I know this might sound dumb but the way I see feminism
BEFORE is standing up and yelling out “I am proud to be a woman!”. But no, it’s
not that, silly me. So many thanks to Chimamanda Adichie who slam a satiated lecture on my
face which I can only agree with the arguments she presented.
This book is downright convincing with its truths and
realities (behind Adichie’s narration of her first-hand experiences). If men
can rule a group, women can! If men can pay the meal on dates, women can! If
men could be bold and wise on making decisions in the family, women can speak
up too! And I hope both sexes could give their fair share on this matter. And I
just thought, feminism, if willed sincerely, it could only be viable if both sexes
work together with its core purpose ─ neutrality.
Really a great read in one sitting! So much learning and realization. This book deserves all applause in the world. This book is another ground for knowledge expansion and with all my heart, I will keep learning about this movement.

God bless the world! God bless to Chimamanda, Lance and
Sheryl and their immaculate feminist hearts. xoxo
P.S. African writers are everything! Excellent <3
